Wow – wieder eine Grossstadt. Für einige Tage ganz schön. Zugriff auf jeglichen westlichen Luxus den wir kenne, aber natürlich auch zum entsprechenden Preis. Das Geld fliesst uns nur so aus der Tasche.

Das Sightseeing Programm, Hyde Park – Royal Botanic Garden – Art Gallery – Shopping Malls – Sydney Oper – Manly Beach und ein haufen Hochhäuser. Den Rest der Zeit verbringen wir mit Arbeiten am Computer und Surfboardsuche. Lukas hat uns in Indonesien mit seiner Begeisterung für seinen Fish angesteckt. Es soll anscheinend das Beste Board für Mittel America sein, und wo ist es günstiger Boards zu kaufen als im Surf er Land schlechthin, Australien.

Wir werden fündig, lassen uns vom Shaper noch die letztes Tipps geben und kaufen das neue Baby. D.h. Kathrin kauft das neue Baby, es ist das Geburtstagsgeschenk für Nic’s 30sten. Stop, stop noch keine fiesen Mails schreiben, es ist erst am 27. so weit.

Etwas spät finden wir heraus, dass unser Freund „da Tschugg“ im Lande ist und gerade die Bike Four Cross WM in Canberra bestreitet. Wir schaffen es ihn aber noch kurz vor seiner Abreise  für zwei Stunden am Flughafen Sydney auf einen Caffee zu Treffen. Zuhause ist auf einmal wieder saunahe…. „woa sche di zum sehng, oida“.

Von der Heimat noch nicht genug, Kathrins Cousin Johannes ist ebenfalls in Sydney. Wir verbringen mit ihm, seiner Freundin Barbara und ihren Freunden einen gemütlichen Abend beim Inder und lassen das ganze beim Absacker Bier im Pub ausklinken.

Der Wellenentzug setzt Nic ganz schön zu also fahren wir kurzer Hand 280km gen Norden für zwei Surf Sessions. Der Kathrin ist es nach wie vor zu Sharky und zu kalt. Forster und Umgebung ist wirklich eine traumhaft schöne Gegend…. ge, Holger und Julia…. 😉 und Jerry, danke für den Tipp.

Unser Round the world ticket wurde nun komplett umgebucht, Neuseeland gestrichen (zu kalt), Hawaii gestrichen (zu teuer) und dafür Fiji, Südpazifik, Baja California und New York dazu. Der letzte Tag endet wieder wie gewohnt im Stress, doch fliegen wir dann am Freitag, den 11. September glücklich nach Fiji.

Woow – next big city. For a few days a nice sensation. Access to all king of luxury we know but unfortunately also to the corresponding price. Feels like we’re loosing money out of our pockets.

Our sightseeing program: visit hyde park, the royal botanic garden, art gallery, shopping malls, sydney opera, manly beach and many skyscraper. The rest of the time is spend with looking after a new surfboard and working on the computer. It’s all Lukas fault, we met him in Indonesia and he was so stoked surfing his fish that somehow he contagioned us. It’s also supposed to be a perfect board for central america, and where should we buy it if not in the surf country of Australia.

We find the baby, get some last tipps from the shaper and pay… well, Kathrin pays. It’s Nic’s present for he’s 30st birthday. Stop stop, no mean emails yet… it’s on september 27th.

A little late we find out that our friend „da Tschugg“ is competing at the four cross bike world cup only 250km away in Camberra. On his way back home we make it to meet and spend two nice hours having a coffee at the airport. Home is so close again…

Not yet enough of home, Kathrins cousin Johannes, his girlfriend Barbara and friends are in town. We spend a relaxed evening at the indian restaurant and finish it with a pint at the pub.

No surf for almost three weeks… can’be. Quick decision, we drive 280km north, 2 days, 2 surfs and back to the airport. Kathrin’s not going into the water, still to cold and two sharky. Nic had a nice surf in Tuncurry. Thanks Jerry, was a good hint to visit the area.

Our round the world ticket is changed now, we cancel New Zealand (still to cold for the endeless summer), canceled Hawaii (to expensive) and decided for Fiji, south Pacific, Baja California and New York. The last day ends as usual in a hassle but we make it to the plane. Friday, september 11th we get to Fiji.
