Fast drei Wochen sind es nun her, seit wir Roti verlassen haben. Nach fast einem Monat Reis, Gemüse und Fisch ist die Freude riesig wo uns in Kuta die erste Pizza wieder serviert wird. Elias Zeit in Indonesien ist um und wir verabschieden uns wieder von einem lieb gewonnenen Menschen. Dani hat noch eine Woche Zeit und begleitet uns nach Balian und Medewi, im Nord-Westen Bali. Der Ausflug nach ein paar Tagen Kuta ist eine gute Abwechslung. Die Wellen sind leider nicht ganz so gut wie erhofft und die Anzahl der Surfer im Wasser nimmt uns eher die Lust. Dani und Kathrin leiden dazu noch unter Rückenverspannungen vom zu vielen surfen, so entscheiden wir uns wieder zurück nach Kuta zu fahren. In Kuta haben wir noch ein paar gute Sessions am Kuta Reef und erkunden die Pukit Halbinsel mit allen bekannten Surfspots.
Nun ist auch Dani’s Zeit um und wir verabschieden uns schweren Herzens. Es besteht jedoch die Möglichkeit, dass wir Dani nochmals in Hawaii oder Zentral America treffen. Am drauf folgenden Tag fliegen wir nach Bima, Sumbawa. Die Ankunft ist etwas weniger erfreulich, da die Polizei uns gleich ohne Berechtigung 300’000 Rupia abnimmt, weil wir unsere Pässe nur als Kopie dabei haben (Pässe sind bei der Einwanderungsbehörde für Visa Verlängerung). Natürlich geht das Geld direkt in die Hosentasche…. ;-(
Für die zwei einhalb stündige Fahrt nach Lakey organisieren wir uns ein Taxi. Generft handeln wir den Preis runter bis die Taxi Fahrer uns nur noch los werden wollen. Theo, unser Fahrer klärt uns gleich nachdem wir losfahren über die Mafia ähnlichen Verhältnissen am Flughafen auf. Er stellt sich als äusserst interessante und gebildete Person heraus, mit ungewöhnlichem Weitblick in Bezug auf Tourismus und lokalem Business.
Lakey ist ein bereits gut bekannter Surfspot mit mehr als 5 guten Wellen zur Auswahl. Unser Bungalow ist eines der schönsten und günstigsten Unterkünfte die wir in Indonesien hatten. Ein guter Ort um wieder ein paar Wochen zu verbringen. Die Weiterreise ist noch offen, zur Diskussion stehen, West-Java, Sumatra, Sumba und vielleicht sogar eine kurze Rückkehr nach Roti….

Almost three weeks have past since we left Roti. After one month of eating rice, vegies and fish we are more than happy when get served our pizza in an Italian Restaurant in Kuta. Elias time in Indonesia is over and once more we say good bye to a good freind. Daniela has one more week to stay and joins us to Balian and Medewi, in the north-west of Bali. It’s a good change after a few days busy Kuta. Unfortunately the waves are not as good as expected and the crowds in the water weaken our motivation to surf. Daniela and Kathrin suffer from some back verspannungen from to much surfing and we decide to head back to Kuta. In Kuta we enjoy some good surf sessions at Kuta reef and explore the pukit peninsula with it’s famous breaks.
Daniela’s time is also over and we say good bye schweren herzens. The probability is high that we see her again in Hawaii or Central America. The following day we fly to Bima on Sumbawa. The arrival wasn’t realy plesant though the police charges us without legatimation 300’000 Rupia for only carrying a copy of our passports with us. (the originals are in Kuta at the immigration for visa extension). Of course the money desappears strait into their own pockets.
Already tense we organise a taxi to Lakey. Not wanting to get charged again extra, we bargain with the lokal taxi mafia until they give us a good price just to get rid of us. As soon as we’re on the road, Theo our driver explains us the complexity of the local airport mafia. To our pleasure, he turns out to be a very intersting educated person, with uncommen knowledge about tourism and local business.
Lakey is a well known surfing destination with more than 5 good waves to choose. Our bungalow is one of the nicest and cheapest we had in Indonesia. A good place to spend some weeks. The following destinations are not yet set, at the moment we could think of West-Java, Sumatra, Sumba or maybe even heading back to Roti for a week or so….
